UKFamily
UKFamily is the latest website offering to parents. It combines the usual advice and categories, from ages and stages, to travel and food…. but look closer and you’ll find a different type of website, one that appears to be housing articles by many authors (kinda like a group blog), one which has allowed the rating of articles (kinda like digg), downloadable widgets like this ovulation calculator (a regular feature in the blogosphere)
and what’s that at the bottom of the left hand corner…Adviceopedia, what?, kinda like wikipedia hmm, the blogosphere better watch their backs, the big bad world of commercialised parenting websites are catching up and catching on. These features combined with the fresh look, which, worryingly reminds me of my own wordpress theme are very appealing. Can these larger websites compete with the one-man-bands of the blogosphere….or should that be the other way around?
