I’ve had some great feedback on this series so far and have been fortunate enough to see some of the changes a few of you have made to your blogs already (nice work). We’ve had a couple of days off, now it’s time to continue our series of ways to make money from your blog.
In the last post I talked about being an affiliate of Amazon, selling their products for a commission, but what if your visitors aren’t interested in buying from Amazon?
5. Other Affiliate Opportunities
Amazon aren’t the only company that have an affiliate program, in fact far from it, almost all retailers seem to have an affiliate program now. If a company has an affiliate program you can expect to find a link in the lower part of their sidebar, or at the foot of the homepage alongside ‘links’ and ‘contact us’.
Alternatively affiliate future (link for uk version, but there is a US version too) have a huge collection of affiliate programs ‘under one roof’ and are extremely easy to use. Products available include holidays, books, gaming sites as well as clothes, gadget and toy retailers. You can choose to refer people via text link or banner, both of which we have discussed before.
I’ve had limited success with this method, however, I haven’t committed as much time to it as some of the other methods. This type of affiliate marketing would suit a blog that has a product related theme. As with amazon, if you include the links, eventually your efforts should be compounded and you should see some sales.
Any thoughts?
