We were lucky enough to be invited to a press trip at Disneyland Paris earlier this year. We had a great time and picked up some tips along the way like navigating the park anti-clockwise or from back to front. This means that you’re usually heading away from the crowds. If you fancy a trip to Disneyland Paris read to the bottom of this post to find out how you can win a trip to Disneyland Paris with P&O ferries!
If you win, this is what you’ll need …

So after a lovely day on Friday, we were up early and ready to go on Saturday. Well not quite, you see I thought my iPhone would automatically update the time difference but it didn’t and so we found ourselves being chased by Liz Jarvis to breakfast which ended up being a rather rushed affair.
Onwards and upwards, we made our way to our own Magical Moment experience where Erin got to meet Alice and the Mad Hatter. This was a definite highlight of the trip and we even …

As a big DisneyWorld (Florida) fan it’s hard to believe that we’ve never actually been to Disneyland Paris, in fact before last weekend I’d never even been to France! So we were chuffed to be invited for the Magical Moments Festival which is Disneyland’s Paris’ theme for the coming year.
We flew direct from Edinburgh to Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris. A Disney shuttle bus took us direct to the Hotel New York.
The travelling was straight forward enough but the shuttle isn’t cheap at roughly thirty-three pounds for …

With the economy the way it is us Brits might end up reverting back to our old ways and holidaying on the costa del sol, and if we do this spanish translation site will come in handy.
I went on a blogger trip to Port Aventura in Spain last year and during a nice tapas meal one of my fellow bloggers tried to order in Spanish for us, I nearly wet myself when she ordered “Dos bread por favor”. She’ll never live that one down. So …

On the ‘search for santa’ day of our trip to Lapland we were transported deep into the forest by coach. We arrived at a sort of ‘base camp’ area which had a large wooden cabin with hot drinks, biscuits and the equipment for the day.
Whilst I tried my hand at snowmobiling, Erin was pulled along in a sleigh along with the other children by a guide who was able to go faster than 2mph (!)
There were lots of mini activities at base camp including a large igloo to explore, …

On our second day in Lapland after huskie sledding we had some lunch before being transported to a local hotel for some Christmas arts and crafts. Erin loves arts and crafts so thoroughly enjoyed creating a party hat and a Christmas card (which she later gave to Father Christmas).
After the afternoon activities we walked to the local village church which was exceptionally pretty. We sang British carols while the minister talked to us about Finnish culture and life in the village. Unfortunately most of it wasn’t the …

Our first organised trip was the huskie sledding experience.
We must have seen over fifty different huskies at the huskie farm as we walked down to the sledding area.
The safety and instructions talk began and it became clear that *all* adults and older children would have the opportunity to drive the sleds, which came as a bit of a shock really. As one gentleman pointed out if we were back in the UK we’d probably need a week long course in huskie handling before they’d let us take full control!
The …

This post could have quite easily been called ‘Easyjet you bar stewards’ but, no diplomacy is my middle name so I’ll just have a little in-post rant instead. Trust me, I’m entitled grrrr
The flight from Edinburgh was delayed by about two and a half hours, no problem though we passed the time with croissants dipped in hot chocolate, yum!
However our arrival in Stansted was a different story. I’d booked an ‘airport hotel’ via the easyjet site. I checked at the information desk, they were very vague and hadn’t …

The tickets have been printed, the itenerary studied and I’ve begun packing.
The airport has been open continuously since 4pm yesterday. We’ve come to the joint conclusion that slowly and surely the snow is actually melting.
It looks like we’re off to Lapland and I’m nervous, anxious and excited. I can’t wait to experience the joy on Erin’s face.
I haven’t told Erin yet but I have a wicked plan. She received a santa letter writing kit off her aunty, so this afternoon she’ll be writing and sending …
