Like many people with a 100 Things list, one of my goals was to write a book and get published. In fact it’s number 6 on my list. Antonia and I got a book deal to write on the topic of blogging last year and we came up with Blogging: The Essential Guide.
The book is split over ten chapters and covers everything you need to know to build a successful blog. I didn’t really have any real expectations for the book, what with it being my first …

Back to my 100 things list then. No.16 Eat in a one michelin starred restaurant. Courtesy of my sister in law we went for dinner at 21212 on Royal Terrace in Edinburgh.
Why 21212? Well the starter course has two choices then you have the option of soup, you have two mains to choose from then a cheese option before you get two desserts (yes, unfortunately you have to choose).
On this occasion we skipped the soup and cheese and ‘just’ went for the three courses. I started with …

If you’re a busy mum then the chances are that you may already enjoy the benefits of a mobile or smartphone. After all, something like the iPhone 4S is perfect for keeping tabs on your digital lifestyle including emails, social networking and web browsing. However, if you need a little more screen area to get your chores done then the latest computer tablet might be an idea instead. Having said that, you may be considering a laptop as an alternative too.
Which to buy?
So, if you’re pondering over this particular quandary and aren’t sure which way to …

A while back I had the idea of a tool, a bit of software that would help people choose which eCourse was right for them. I shared the idea with Antonia and we came up with a decision making tool which the very handy Mandy (handy mandy, oh dear, I may have created an unfortunate nickname there) created for us. The app basically helps people to find the right free eCourse for them. You can try it our now here – Free Business Training – or …

I’m asked all the time about time management and how to make it all fit. On a plane flying down to London, on a particularly busy day! – I had a think about all the things I do that I don’t really notice now to ensure I’m as productive as I can be.
1. Get up early
I find starting the day an hour before everyone else means not only do I get to wake up nice and quietly (sneaky, eh..) but I get to answer emails and do any …

Do you neglect your feet through the winter and at the sign of the sun realise what a state your feet are in? Well why not give you them a treat and get them ready for the summer months.
Firstly, soak your feet in a bowl of warm water for 10 minutes. You can either add a foot soak, bubble bath or even a few drops of peppermint essential oil to relax and soothe your feet.
Once you have done this, this is where the hard work begins! Look at your nails, …

WATCHING…. We Bought a Zoo
Fab film, I mean really really good. It was refreshing to watch a family movie that wasn’t either animated or just plain daft. Matt Damon (was hot – but that’s by the by) was really good, and I’m not sure who the child actress was but she was excellent to. It’s a true story based on the man who bought Dartmoor Zoo which is interesting. Definitely one to see but take the hankies, you’ve been warned!

Last time I gave you seven steps that I use regularly to gain confidence and today I have six more..
1. Remember most people are roughly the same as you
As humans we have a habit of under-estimating ourselves and over-estimating everyone else. I can’t remember where I read it but someone wrote ‘the only difference between you and the guy that succeeded was they gained the confidence, took action and made it happen’ – or words to that effect. I can totally vouch for this.
2. Positive affirmations
Sometimes it’s …

After 18 months of anticipation finally ‘WYBOT’ was upon us. WYBOT standing for ‘West Yorkshire Bloggers on Tour’, just a bit of fun that makes us feel like a group of unruly youngsters that could get up to anything. Actually we’re very civilised, ahem.
I headed down on the train. There was a slight panic as just the day before I’d managed to get myself into trouble by catching the wrong train and ending up in Falkirk so I was on high alert to make sure there were …

Most of us struggle with a lack of confidence occasionally, and if you don’t you have to ask yourself whether you’re pushing yourself far enough outside your comfort zone.
I’ve been pushing myself pretty hard over the last couple of years, forcing myself to take big steps and huge leaps forward. At each cliff edge I struggle to find the confidence I need to take the leap but over time I’ve found some strategies that work and they’ve always given me the confidence I need.
Here are my 7 …

With only a little while before the Easter holidays, you may be starting to panic and wonder what you can occupy your children with for the two week break?
There are a multitude of great activities and games you can get your children into over the Easter break, here are my top five:
Craft activities are great for younger children. Blowing eggs and decorating them with paint, glue and glitter is a great way to entertain them no matter what the weather. Why not cut out some egg shapes from old cereal boxes and get them …
