**Help Help Help Help Help Help Help Help Help**

I’ve decided to have a traditional tea party in the house for Erin’s first birthday, which falls nicely on a Sunday (4th February).

I have decided that the theme of the party will be ‘Pink’.

So far my ‘thought shower’ (can you believe they have to call it that in schools these days??) has resulted in pink balloons, pink napkins and a pink dress code. Guys……friends…..fellow bloggers….I need HELP

I’d like you to throw some ideas and inspiration at me for Erin’s Pink Party. Food, party bags, fun & games….if you have a bright idea…or any idea at all :) please leave a suggestion. Thank You.

Choco Face

This month has been ‘choc’ full with christmas, new year and family visits. We’ve laughed, cried and sometimes shouted. You’ve learned to dance and clap. You finally cut your first teeth on new years’ day.

Wow! What's that?

Mummy: This photo looks just like one of me when I was a baby, ask me, and I’ll show you.

Yes! Got the bed to myself at last.

Mummy: The competitive streak is in you, even if it is only winning some bed space.

I'm not reading if you keep staring!

Mummy: You’re around 4 months old here, I chose this picture because the expression on your face is so grown up.

Look at that smile

Mummy: A sneaky little smile lets me know that you were happy to be here.

That was funny Daddy

Mummy: Daddy gets the biggest smiles when you’re playing your silly games.

Mum, this isn't going to stain is it?

Mummy: We did lots of activities, I don’t know if you enjoyed them, but we enjoyed doing them with you.

Cheeky Chumpy (wumpy doo daa)

Mummy: You loved when I was taking photos of you, you’re around 6 or 7 months here.

Pretty Girl

Mummy:
This outfit was pretty girly for you, we favoured combats usually. (I’m wondering what you will be wearing if and when you ever read this)

Erin on her Belly

Mummy: Having fun on your belly, this was one of the first times you rolled over, but you didn’t really like being on your front much.

I love you!

Mummy: I think you looked perfect in this photo :)

So what do they taste like?

Mummy: We did a lot of colouring together but I used to get quite frustrated that all you wanted to do was eat the crayons rather than colour nice pictures!

Smiles before bed

Mummy: You’re growing up so fast, but at bedtime you still look like our little baby.

Tub and a Ball

Mummy: Playing in the water, moments after this you tipped the whole tub over yourself!

So Erin, if blogging isn’t too historic (and I remembered to renew my domain name!) you are reading this, I’m not sure how old you are but I hoped you enjoyed reading a little bit about some of our thoughts and feelings during your first year. I don’t think I included anything embarassing and if I did - I’m sorry.

Why Tiny Dancer? In hospital, the night before having you, for some reason it was the only song that was keeping me (and you) calm :) (Tiny Dancer by Elton John)

With Love Mummy & Daddy (Daddy doesn’t ‘do’ blogging, but this was his idea!)

3 days late.

Which one?

Erin gets independent. Not satisfied with my selection of toys, she decides to choose her own :)

Following on from my last post;

I was saying how Erin loved playing her piano, here is the link

also, today, I gave her a special treat. This Fisher Price Musical Pipes toy was supposed to be for christmas but I sneaked this one in early :) sorry, no link, can’t find it anywhere, perhaps Erin has the last one….in the whole world!! :)

I’m finding that only now has she started showing any interest in toys, this bodes well for christmas!

Erin's play corner

Erin is sitting up for long periods of time now. She likes having quite a few toys out at a time, she presses the piano to make a tune, plays with her other toys and when the tune stops she will press it again.

Erin holds all her weight standing up if I support her. She likes to imitate when we shake our head or tap things.

Hysterical!

It was Erin’s first gym class today.

I don’t know who is more pooped….me or her! It was good fun though. She bounced on a huge ball, we did a couple of group songs and she practised standing walking and bouncing on the trampoline.

Playing Chopsticks

Lots happened this month.

We went on our first family holiday and you talked to the ducks, rather you did this funny coughing thing at the ducks, which you think is talking. All the family now ‘talk’ in this funny coughing way, and I am considering a packet of strepsils to be a useful addition to the christmas stockings this year.

You can say mumum and dada. You ask for Daddy when he is at work, then you act all shy when he comes home. Mumum usually comes out when you are tired and you want something. You got a fright the day before yesterday when the delivery men from Tesco arrived. You got really scared and I think you thought they had come to take me away….you cried…real tears …and gave me a big hug. I was sad that you were crying but I was glad for the hugs.

You can sit up, but you don’t want to crawl. That’s fine. It means I don’t have to Erin-proof the house yet. It looks like you are more interesting in walking anyway.

You had another trim at the hairdressers this month, I’m glad that you have mummy’s thick hair and not Daddy’s almost non-existant hair (sorry Daddy). Everyone in the hairdessers talked to you and you did the funny coughing thing back :)

I love you.

Erin has grown up a lot this month :)

She is up to three meals a day (with deserts). She loves laughing and trying to talk to everyone. Her physical development is definitely a bit slower than her emotional and mental skills, which I think are quite well developed - but then I’m her mum :)

So what do they taste like?

Wow! It’s been six months? (I check the calender again, yip definitely six months)

Erin on her Belly

This month we took Erin swimming for the first time - which she really enjoyed. She is babbling like a baby pro, some of her ’stories’ last upwards of ten minutes (you should hear some, so interesting!).

Her character is definitely starting to emerge, she’s cheeky, happy, nosey, smiley….
and great company - I haven’t felt like that before but recently I have been quite enjoying our little ‘chats’ and impromptu ’sing-alongs’ :)
