Since childhood most girls dream of being a mummy and already have their names chosen, but actually how many women use the names they had chosen out when they where younger?
Choosing your childs name is a really important decision, you may chose because of the name meaning, hoping to choose a name that will bring along some of the characteristic’s to your child. May be you have chosen the name as it has a meaning to you, a special place or person.

Choosing your childs name is a really important decision, you may chose because of the name meaning, hoping to choose a name that will bring along some of the characteristic’s to your child. May be you have chosen the name as it has a meaning to you, a special place or person.

Another reason for choosing your childs name may be the name origins, especially if you or your family are from a reglious background or there is a family tradition where a child is given a name that runs in the family. We chose to give my son the middle name of Leigh as this is my husbands middle name too.

I must admit that I found choosing girls names a lot easier than boys, not sure why but my daughter’s name was what we had already chosen for my son and we still really liked it when my daughter was born.

There are lots of reasons for choosing a child’s name and sometimes it can be down to what is most popular at the time or what a famous celebrity has called their little one. There is one thing to remember when choosing an unusual name, it may gain attention which can either be good or bad. Having an unusual name can be a great ice breaker at interviews when the child is older but depending on the name, children can be cruel and change names to hurt each other so be careful.

So choosing your child’s name may not be as easy as you think but there are lots of resources available to help with your choice.

It is important to establish a bedtime routine from early on with a newborn to help them wind down and help you gain a bit of time to yourself.

This is a mistake I made and one I still struggle with with my eldest! Starting when they are young makes it a lot easier for both them and you. Once they can self settle, even if they do wake they should be able to sooth themselves to sleep

So here is the Good Night’s Sleep video, a must watch for all new parents!
