I made these myself with some leftover pear and jelly, however, I think it would make a great cookery activity for a preschooler.
Erin loved them, so I may try some other fruit and flavoured jelly combinations…orange jelly with peach or perhaps strawberry with lime flavoured jelly….

We had fun making this very simple sticker picture. As you can see we had fish, shell and boat stickers, so we decided on an oceanic theme. Do you like the pencilled in fisherman? hee hee

We had fun last week doing chalk drawings, it’s one of the easiest activities for Erin’s age group going. It’s simple to set up, only requires chalk and paper, and is pretty tidy too.
As easy as it may seem, as you can see it takes the ultimate in concentration.

Sorry, no photo this time, camera batteries were out, which is a shame because this was Fun (with a capital F).
Erin was given these paint wands by her Aunty, they are really, really good. You simply leave them in water for 20 seconds the first time (the next time they should work quicker) and [...]

I found this idea in a very old book by Juliet Moxley. Erin’s too young for it yet, but it seems so simple, and ideal for mums and dads that aren’t that great with more in-depth projects.
All you need is some newspaper, a large piece of paper (wallpaper will do), masking tape, paint and [...]

Erin enjoyed some ‘Daddy Time’. Together they produced these white chocolate crispy cakes
(I’m not quite sure if the spring onion in the background is for garnish?!?!)
I was informed [...]

This is a nursery favourite, especially with younger children who get impatient with longer baking projects.
If you don’t fancy baking or think your kids would lose interest too quickly, simply ice rich tea biscuits and decorate with hundreds and thousands, jelly sweets etc… The other advantage, is that you get to see (and eat) [...]

A littlemummy reader gave me the idea for this activity. Simply mix cornflour and water to make the weirdest substance ever, you need to try it to see
We had an absolute blast (as you can see!). In fact it’s probably the best activity we’ve done so far. It’s a little messy, [...]

We had fun yesterday with our first foray into the world of play dough. With only one attempt at ingestion I thought it went pretty well.
Erin enjoyed investigating, throwing it on the floor (!) and ripping it into small pieces.
The guide on the tub said two years upwards but having worked at [...]
