We ventured up north this weekend to try out the bus service linking Killin-Aberfeldy-Crieff-Comrie. The Ring of Breadalbane is a circular service which runs both clockwise and anti-clockwise, it links many of the main tourist attractions as well as popular cycle paths and walking routes.
We were up bright and early to catch the 8.52 bus right outside our hotel, Ailean Chraggan (more on this soon).
We stayed on a couple of stops before hopping off at Highland Safaris. Highland Safaris offer a range of activities including off roading, forest safaris, gold panning and a red deer encounter.
Erin had a go at the gold panning, her loot including ‘fool’s good’, amethyst and garnet. We didn’t have chance to do the organised red deer encounter but we got quite up, close and personal anyway. What a beauty. If we’d had a bit more time we’d have stayed for a spot of lunch in the cafe which had a lovely log burner and was serving locally sourced produce. Ah well, there’s always next time.
Our next stop was the Scottish Crannog centre…
