I do love a little jaunt, although I love working from home it’s nice to get out and meet people. Last week I was invited to London for afternoon tea. It might seem like a long way to go for afternoon tea, but this was a little bit special and well worth a ten hour round trip on the train.
I set out at 6am and was quickly whizzing through the snow covered North of England. By midday I was at King’s Cross meeting up with my good pal Laura. We made our way towards Royal Horseguards Hotel. Not being Londoners we ended up on a tube heading the wrong way, our error was soon rectified amid lots of giggling.
After the presentation from the ladies at Royal Carribean I was left wondering why I’d never considered a cruise before. Ok there’s the cost, but that seems to be comparable with a holiday to Florida. I guess there’s the safety and low level fear of sailing, but I’m told once you try it these fears are often unfounded. I do love the idea of showing Erin a bit more of the world if I can and cruising is an easy way to do that. With my interest piqued I agreed to become a #RoyalMum and find out more.
My first experience of afternoon tea was excellent, as you’d expect from a five star hotel. I got my cucumber sandwiches, we also had fresh scones and panna cotta, and little cakes. All very delicious.
After a very exciting lunch a few of us took stock of the day over a drink before we headed back to the train station. I was absolutely shattered by the time I got home, but it was well worth it. You can’t beat a good catch up with friends and I think that there might be some exciting opportunities ahead as a #RoyalMum.
