I remember tasting oxtail soup for the first time, I wasnt sure what to make of it, as it was thick and black, and i imagined it was like thick tar, i was eatiing
I tried to eat Oxtail soup (tinned) recently, not how I remember it!
My favourite food memory is eating lobster linguine on a restaurant in Capri that was cut down into the edge of a cliff with the sea below. As we were eating, the weather suddenly changed to a storm – was amazing, lovely food and memorable atmosphere!!!
Wow, sounds amazing. Never tried Lobster – mind you I’m a bit iffy with seafood, I will force myself one day. Although if I find I like it I’ll be gutted #expensive

My favourite food memory is exactly what I had to eat just before I have birth to my girls. I had the best tuna sandwich and Mars bar just before I was rushed into theatre to have an emergency section.
Tasted lovely at the time but after the epidural, I didn’t feel too great, so unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it for too much longer!
Yup, it’s never as nice coming back up the other way!

My fav food memory happened not to long ago. I had suffered from a milk allergy for a few years, but when it suddenly disappeared as quickly as it arrived that first taste of chocolate again was amazing!

You can’t beat a bit of chocolate, I’m currently ‘tasting’ http://www.paulwaynegregory.com chocs, I’ll be sad when they’re gone!
It’s so hard to pick a favourite. Many of the early ones come from hanging around in my mother and my grandmother’s kitchens. I remember being in Granny’s kitchen and her showing me how to take the fat off lambs’ kidneys and how nice it makes your hands feel.
Hmmm, I’m not sold on the feel of lamb’s liver. I can’t even touch red meat with my bare hands!
Just tweeted about this as it make me think of my Mum’s dumpling. The wait until it came out of the oven to dry/toughen the skin was interminable.
Love dumplings, I need to learn how to make them.
My mum’s homemade spaghetti and meatballs – they are legendary!
My mum does a good curry, and she’s not bad at lasagne.
My favourite memory is making chocolate truffles with my Nan when i was little. They were delicious, the best ive ever tasted. Thing is i never got old enough to remember the recipe and we couldnt find it anywhere when she died. This was of course disappointing but theres also something really comforting at the fact she has taken this with her and my memories stay with her.
Ive shared on facebook too! X
That’s sad and comforting at the same time, like you say the memories will always be linked to her.
My brother and I visiting my Grandad. My brother would be allowed to eat rice pudding either straight from the tin or warm in a saucepan and I would get lemon curd sandwiches. For dinner. You couldn’t ask for better when you are wee.
