Erin’s found a hobby she loves. We’ve done a few clubs at school – gardening, games, art. She’s also been a Rainbow for nearly a year which she absolutely loves. We’ve considered sport hobbies like judo, gymnastics and karate but pony riding has been the one to really capture her imagination. She says she feels more confident on a pony than she does on a bike, and it shows. She still looks a little awkward on her bike, still needs stabilisers. She looks natural on a pony, comfortable, confident.
It’s a lovely feeling to see your child really enjoying something. I’m already planning a ‘pony account’ as it’s not a hobby that comes cheap but it’s well worth every penny.

rrr bless her. My daughter is obssesed with horses and ponies x
Hi, I saw your link on the photo gallery and came here because I was interested in reading what you had to say about pony riding. My daughter did it briefly a few years ago, and enjoyed it. Like you say it isn’t a cheap hobby. We’re currently debating what activity she might take up here as we have only recently arrived in England.
I was brought up with horses and ponies and used to take little ones for rides, I can understand why Erin feels more confident on a pony. I took great delight in seeing the pleasure children had from growing self esteem, sometimes in children who were lacking in self-confidence in other activities. It is`nt a cheap hobby like you say, but when they enjoy it, it can help make a big difference to their whole lives. It really is time and money spent worthwile. Checkout grangetrekking.co.uk Its absolutely brilliant and great fun for the whole family to go aswell.
