For only the second time since starting this blog I’m moving house. Last time I was moving from a flat in Edinburgh to house in a small village on the outskirts. This time we’re hoping to upgrade to a new build with an extra room, a drive and an en suite at the other end of the village. We’ve been pondering the move for the last year. We don’t really have to move as technically we have enough bedrooms, although the lack of an office has been an issue. It’s been a hard decision to make as our mortgage is currently very low giving us maximum freedom. Our mortgage will more than double in the new house, although moving means we can sell one of the cars which makes a difference.
So after much deliberation we’ve put ours on the market and we’ve put a deposit on a three bed semi. Somewhere we can comfortably stay for many years as it has all the space we need (please remind me of this when I get itchy feet). It’s not the best time to sell but we’ve had some early interest so I’m feeling quite positive (at the moment). The only downside is that we’ve decided not to go abroad this year, too much going on and holidaying abroad is expensive. We’re making up for it by planning trips to Bexhill, Isle of Bute, London and Strathyre. Hopefully these mini trips will make up for it, and help with the house moving stress!

Hope it sells fast for you. I am hoping we can move before the end of the year although I think I am being a bit optimistic!
Took us a while to make the decision, it’s so stressful.
I don’t see a visit to Wales., on your list., of “stay in the UK holidays” lol. xxx
No trips to Wales planned – come up! Mum has the spare room now. Erin would love a visit!
