Sunday Lunch at Lauriston Farm

There’s nothing better than heading out for a nice Sunday lunch. Lauriston Farm is one of those carvery places. Now let’s be honest, in my experience these carvery places can be a bit hit and miss. For example the one closest us is a disaster. Fair enough it is priced at about the same as a Big Mac meal but frankly you have to worry about the quality of ingredients when restaurants can sell a roast dinner at that kind of rock bottom price. At Lauriston Farm you pay a bit more – £9.49 on a Sunday. You can pick your meat from a selection of Roast Beef, Turkey, Pork and Ham. Then there’s stuffing, crackling, yorkshire puddings, lots of veg and two or three different kinds of gravy as well as all the usual Sunday dinner condiments.

For dessert they have a selection of sundaes as well as traditional desserts like treacle sponge, lemon meringue pie and four different types of crumble.

Meal for five came to a very reasonable £65.

Pop down on a Sunday and take a walk along Silverknowes before filling your boots!

*Sorry about the lack of photo, I was very hungry and demolished the lot before even thinking about it

  1. Many thanks for the tip! I went to Edinburgh a few weeks ago and it’s such a beautiful place, I shall make a note for next time as there are 5 of us too and so hard to find a decent place to eat for such a reasonable price xx
