Edinburgh for Kids: Inverleith Park

Inverleith Park is a great place to take little ones to let off a bit of steam. It’s situated directly across from the Royal Botannical Gardens so if it’s warm I recommend you take a picnic and do the double. Don’t forget a few pounds for the ice cream van which sits between the entrances.

The most desirable allotments in Edinburgh situated in one corner of Inverleith Park. The waiting list runs to several years. You can see why though, incredibly picturesque and right in the centre of Edinburgh.

The park is seperated into four quarters by the pathways. One area houses the allotments shown above, the other quarters are playing fields. There’s a children’s play park, tennis courts and an area for boules. The walkways make it ideal for dog walking, cycling and roller blading.

In the Summer Inverleith Park is the venue for Taste food festival. Catch the 29 from Princes St.
