Regis Spa Salon in Jenners

27 February 2012 No Comment

So I’ve been undergoing a little bit of a makeover recently, a sort of life makeover. It started with me switching degrees to make more time for the business. This led to me overhauling my schedule and getting a cleaner, something I’ve been considering for well over a year!

These changes then led to spending £250 in Gap, not sure how that happened *cough*. The same week I was invited to the new Regis Spa Salon in Jenners, so it was perfect timing really! The new salon is on the fifth floor of Jenners on Princes St, a stone throw from Waverley station so I was able to hop on the train and be there in no time.

The salon is beautiful, minimal, airy and modern. I started my visit with an express manicure. I don’t look after my nails at all really so questions like ‘What shape do you usually have?’ elicited a confused look and me mumbling something about them just being round. After the manicure I had a nice cup of coffee and then it was time to get my hair done. Guy was doing my hair who apparently does Emma Willis’ hair, what about that for a claim to fame! He’s also the creative director for Regis UK so I was in very good hands.

What was different about the Regis experience was that I actually didn’t get my hair cut much at all. After my consultation and Guy explaining to me the complexities of my hair and how it needs to sit to get the style I want we decided that actually I needed to grow it. This was a real eye opener and I feel like for the first time I really understand my hair and I’m no longer fighting against it. Guy did tidy it up for me, put some nice product on and gave me a masterclass in how to dry and style my hair – which I’ve been managing to follow, much to the amusement of my friends on our recent girly weekend.

I was sent away with a lovely goodie bag of products and a new sense of hair-related purpose. I’m now in a two month ‘growing phase’ so I can go back and have it styled in just the way I want. I’m not usually too lavish with my praise when it comes to reviews but I really did enjoy my visit to the Regis Spa Salon and I’ll definitely be going back.
