How to Keep On Top of Your Business Cashflow
Are you looking for a way to run your business more efficiently and know exactly what your cash flow is and how you can build on this in the coming years?
Well there are many ways in which you can do this but there is one important part of any business that needs to be kept on top of to make the business thrive and that is the books. Now this can be quite a time consuming task if not done correctly or done regularly, but there are ways of making it easier.
The first may not be relevant for all businesses and that is to outsource this task to someone who is qualified to do it and will take less time that it would take you. A great way to decide if this is the option for you is to work out how much you earn an hour from your business and compare that against how much an account or bookkeeper will charge. If you earn more an hour than what that will cost per hour, then that is an option for you.
Alternatively, there are many types of accountancy software available that will help you keep on top of the books, meaning that predicting how your business is doing and completing your tax return at the end of the financial year will be a lot easier.
Intuit is one such company which provide great software to help you with your books. They have two types of software, QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Each has three different levels dependent upon the level of bookkeeping your business requires. The basic level is either QuickBooks SimpleStart or Online Simple Start. Both are suitable for small sole trader businesses with one user and will help you create professional invoices, track sales, expenses and profits and create business reports.
For larger companies who will need up to three users to access the software, the other two packages would be more appropriate, and provide more functions larger companies require. These are QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Premier for the Desktop version and Online Essentials and Online Plus.
