I’m a list person, I like making lists.
I have a list for household jobs, a shopping list, a work ‘to do’ list, and a ‘life’ list.
My life list is a broad plan of some of the things I’d like to see, do and own (the own one is very small in comparison to the other two!). I began doing this after reading The 4 Hour Workweek which had an activity for life planning which encouraged you to think big and break down the costs of the things you’d like …

This is my brother ‘planking’. Apparently this is all the rage at the moment. The idea is that you lie face down with hands by your sides and take photos in unusual places. My brother is an Army PT Instructor, this is his slightly extreme take on the new craze.

Last year I was invited on BBC Radio Scotland to talk about maternity leave. I was the one who’d taken extended leave (almost five years in total!), a decision I don’t regret at all.
The discussion began relatively balanced before becoming more pro work at the end. Callers were predominantly promoting a quick return to work, citing the usual reasons from financial need to social reasons.
On reflection of the debate I began to think that the benefits of taking a period out from work weren’t promoted enough. We seem to have …

Think Banking has asked me to share my budgeting tips.
1. It’s all in the mind
My first tip has nothing to do with money at all. A lot of your happiness is in your head. If you choose to believe that …

Yes I said the c-word, and in May too. Despicable! Why on earth would I post about Xmas so early in the year? Well, because Christmas shopping and saving for me, starts in January! We have a large family and Christmas is a big deal for us. I like to get people something special as a gift but don?t want our everyday household budget to suffer for it! Here are a few things to …

Quick update, I completed another of my 100 things yesterday; No.5 Go Quad Biking
The husband and I headed about an hour away from Edinburgh, donned ridiculous clothes and tore up a field for an hour. Nobody tipped over and there was only one ‘near miss’ when the husband slowed down unexpectedly and I was going down a steep bit in a wooded area with no brakes. Bit of superb driving (ahem, modest is not my middle name) by me saved us from a pile up.
Good fun though, …

I have a bit of a thing about packaging.
My new boyfriend was thrown into a complete panic at Christmas, spending far too long agonising over different wrapping papers, after my sister told him I would care far more about the wrappings than the presents.
I have a whole dressing table covered in make-up that I hardly ever use, simply because I like the little boxes it comes it. All perfectly healthy I?m sure. After all, it?s what?s on the outside that counts right?
It was the gorgeous packaging then that drew me …

It can be such a hassle to make an appointment and fit it in your busy schedule to get your eyebrows done, so here are some tips on how you can achieve the perfect eyebrow shape for you when you have the time to do it!
