A Little Bit of Luxury

24 January 2011 5 Comments

There’s not a great deal of luxury in my life (altogether now, aaahhhh).

It’s mostly school runs, the dog weeing on the carpet, Erin asking if she can eat tics tacs that have fallen on the floor (no darling, mummy hasn’t mopped this week), and Alex gently pointing out that he’s eaten frosties for tea three days in a row (so open the bloody fridge and cook something man!).

At the end of last year I thought enough’s enough and went down to the local country club ‘just to see how much it would cost’ to join (and dream a little). Just to have a wee look around and imagine it was I that was escaping for an hour’s peace and tranquility. Last January we’d done a spa break (on our own) and Alex had passed comment about how lucky the ‘members’ were who could pop in at anytime.

I think you know where this is going…

So there was this amazing deal on, and it was totally not as expensive as I thought, and if I cancel Alex’ subscription to Sky Sports well that would practically pay for it, wouldn’t it?

I signed up there and then and I phoned Alex to let him know the great news, I told him how wonderful it was and how much family time we’d have and how we could get fit and somewhere in my excitable ramble I mumbled something about the death of Sky sports.

We’ve been members three months now and I must admit it has been worth every penny. I go to a few fitness classes a week, we both go to the gym and we’re never away from the swimming pool and steam room and sauna. I love it! Alex might be waiting a long time for Sky Sports!

Fancy a cheap spa break of your own? Or try here for spa weekends.

Right. I’m off to the steam room!
