Winding Down For Winter
Uni’s pretty much finished now, no more actual lectures to attend. Just two essays to write and submit by 6th Dec.
It’s gone really well, better than I’d hoped. The coursework has been within my comfort zone but still pushing me enough to make it interesting. I’d worried that it would be beyond me so this first term has been a real confidence builder. I’ve all but completed three modules now; marketing, intercultural organisational management and exploring entrepreneurship. My favourite was the entrepreneurship followed closely by the marketing, which is handy as that’s pretty much what the next three and a half years is going to be about.
I’ve already made some good friends, I wasn’t sure if I’d be accepted as I’m older and in a different place to them. But it seems I’m young enough in the mind to still connect with them on some level, so that’s a relief. The social/friends thing is a bonus really but it’s really added to my enjoyment of it.
In other news Erin’s done really well in her first term at school. She’s caught chicken pox and every bug going round so has been off quite a bit. She really enjoys going and her progress with her reading has really surprised me. She seems to have a lot of friends and the older kids coo at her a bit, on the whole she seems really happy. The nativity play is looming so we’ve been hearing songs like ‘Horrid Herod’ and ‘The Very Hopeless Camel’ (harumph, harumph wiggle your hump).
She’s been chosen to play the star and as we were discussing the play there was a pause before Erin matter-of-factly said “I don’t know if they’re just going to put a hook in the back to lower me down”, eh?, turns out Erin thinks they’ll be lowering her onto the stage from a suspension wire a la the west end! That girls’s gonna go far
At home we’re at #UKSnow of 7/10. Alex has just had to move the car to stop us getting snowed in. I was dreading the snow but since I bought my new wellies (see pic) let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
If we do get snowed in we’ll keep ourself occupied with the Kinect which is fantastic (full review coming soon) and our ongoing toyologist reviews. We’ve received so many boxes we’ve had to draft in help!
So that’s me. What’s the news with you? Are you winding down for winter yet?

No chance of winding down whatsoever *types with vigour* !! I can’t afford to take a single week off this year but hope to be organised enough that I can get it down at weekends and in the evenings. Next year will be different (famous last words). Very pleased to hear the course is going well. IJ caught Chicken Pox as soon as she started school too. At least it gets it over with!
Nice to hear your going well, no breaks for me this winter, i’m envious=)
