Sometimes It Takes A Little Bit More & At The Right Time
This is a guest post by Susie who blogs at New Day New Lesson. She writes in positive terms about lessons she learns each day from life. The Kindness Club she started is on its 7th week. Every Tuesday Susie gives a prompt of an act of kindness for people to think about and do should they choose to.
Life is good.
I have a great and supportive family. I have a wonderful husband. I have five great kids.
The community I live in is close knit and I have fantastic friends both in and out of my community.
I work as an ER nurse and have job security. I work part time by choice and I make a decent enough salary for those days.
Although it has only been three and a half months since I started blogging, I feel like I have accomplished all the goals I have set for myself so far, and then some. I have also made some amazing friends through blogging.
I have taken myself, my feelings and my writing seriously and I feel I have been growing tremendously as a person. I have so many ideas it is overwhelming. My insights into my behavior have been increasing as well.
I think it is that personal growth that has made me see quite clearly that in order to “Live My Best Life” as Oprah would say, I need someone to help me get to the next level. There is only so much you can do on your own or with help from people you know. I am a voracious reader and read as many of the self help, inspirational and success books as I can get my hands on. (Not to mention getting Oprah delivered all the way to Israel.)
However there comes a point when it is not enough.
So just as I was on the verge deciding to go to a life coach, I received an unexpected gift from my guardian angels in the form of five free life coaching sessions. Through a friend of a friend after a chance meeting, I was given the opportunity to be coached by an advanced coaching student as part of her practicum. My luck was that this student also has a Phd in psychology and has worked as a therapist as well.
Our phone conversation was really great and we discussed our life views. We also discussed what goal I want to work on for the coaching sessions. That was not an easy one, but by the end of the conversation I knew which way I want my life to go.
I want to be able to earn an income doing something I love. I have known for a while that nursing is not my ultimate calling. It has paid bills over the years and I know I have made a difference in peoples’ lives. I just feel and know I have so much more to give.

I am excited and psyched. I was already at a crossroads in my life where I knew what was working and what wasn’t. I have been working hard at change and positive thinking. Yet, I have been struggling with how to get one step higher.
Just like all the top athletes have coaches, I believe when you want to get the most out of yourself and your life, sometimes you need a little bit more help. Help that comes in the form of a life coach.
When you are ready. When the time is right.
Remember a coach is someone who helps you reach the heights you are seeking.
Do you know where you want to go in life and how you are going to get there?

Wow, pleased the sessions have helped you decide on a new direction. I saw your tweets and wondered how it had gone.
I had the first session yesterday and it was really great.
I also did something with her called mind mapping which was really interesting. Google mind mapping for an explanation. Was very enlightening to me to see where my mind went when the center was what would my ideal job look like.
You’re so lucky to have a clear idea/plan of where you want to go. I’m in awe of how you find the time to do everything you do & at such a high standard! So glad you have found a great coach too!
Good for you for having a direction. I wish you all the best in achieveing what you set out to
Its funny a friend of a friend of mine offered me some sessions and I wasn’t sure if I should take her up on them. You have made my mind up now!
Julia-clear plan? Nope. Lots and lots of self work and soul searching though.
Madhouse-thanks so much.
PippaD-there are no coincidences you know
How lovely to have a path to follow and someone to help you along the way. I wish you every success and look forward to reading about it all
Sounds like your student coach did a great job! I often think that if I have to leave my job I would see a life coach to help me work out what else I could do! But of course, I don’t want to leave my job, so I’m persuaded that I wouldn’t enjoy/ be good at anything else. Life coaching is very expensive though, I think.
I know a few people who have benefitted from life coaching. I also know people who have benefitted from psychic life coaching. Whatever floats your boat!
Susie, I admire the fact that you have a goal, you know what you want and you’re moving towards that, however you get there!
