I love 'Room on the broom' more than Oliver I think. He does like it but asks me not to read it too much. When I went to London last year Oliver was worried because I wouldn't be there to ready to him (Rhona was there but that didn't count) so I had to record myself reading the books so he could listen to them each night before he went to bed :-)

Some great Scottish books are the Hairy Maclary/Slinky Malinki & Scarface Claw ones. Really good rhyming books, you will love them!!

Two other books, 'The story of Clan Mingin' and 'The story of Clan McWee' Really good Scottish words, good to say them in a strong Scottish accent which Oliver tries to copy

Room on the Broom has been a favourite in our house since age 2. The words '...and whoosh they were gone!' - made Ella giggle and giggle at age 2 (and still does at 6), traditionally rolled out now at Halloween.

Ah, I remember it well. It's actually quite a shame when they grow up and you don't have that quiet reading time with them anymore. I used to like 'Winnie the Witch' and the Gruffalo. I dread to think how many times I read Winnie. Oh and when my first one was teeny (he's now nearly 15!) we used to read Miffy too (showing my age here). x
