I am a big fan of writing in advance – if I can get a quiet period then I can start up a few posts and hone them when I’ve time and then get them set up to post over the course of the coming days, takes a lot of the pressure off

Would also add in that try and find a way to blog away from your laptop, being able to jot things down on my phone and then tidy them up later works really well for me (and tapping on a phone is easier whilst feeding than typing on a laptop)

Hi Erica,

Just been having a lovely trawl through your blog. The guest post vlog made me a wee bit homesick – I went to school outside Edinburgh too, so it’s lovely to hear the accent. You don’t hear it much down here in Buckinghamshire!

Loved the blog tips too – I tend to do mine at hideous o’clock in the morning, when my vampire children wake up.

I always seem to have ten ideas on the go or nothing. If I could add anything to this list it would be not to put pressure on yourself to come up with something new every day/every 2 days. If I’ve got lots of comments on a post I leave it to run. Likewise, if I can’t think of anything to say!!

Great tips, especially the one about writing ideas down straight away. I try not to worry about ideas for posts but I do write them down when I think of something. Recently I decided to take a much more relaxed attitude to blogging and enjoy it rather than stressing about it. Since then I have found I have actually written more posts rather than less. Taking the pressure off myself seems to have helped!

Very useful, and so obvious (when someone points it out anyway)! The unexpected ‘next bout of teething’ has probably been the downfall of many a meticulous plan.
