Monday Memory Meme
I’ve been tagged by Alpha Mummy to share a memory.
For a number of years I’ve been having sort of flashback memories of a childrens television programme that was set in a greenhouse and the character was a green monster thing that would plant a seed, a story would take place and the plant that grew from the seed would flower the exact item required to help in the story.
Well today I decided to do some internet digging and try and find out what that programme was. I searched under google for ‘green fingers’ as I thought that’s what the monster thing was called.
Well it turns out that the monster was actually a giant caterpillar and the programme was called Greenclaws it was aired on CBBC in 1988, I was 5!
Erin and I just watched the first episode on Youtube, she loved it
I checked if they sell dvd’s but unfortunately not, so we’ll need to watch them all on Youtube.
Do you remember Greenclaws?
Now I tag @YummyNo1 and @pippad and @notsuchayummum to share a memory.

I've been blogging for four years and write about anything and everything that takes my fancy.
Above is me with my beloved Ernie in Port Aventura and left with our love child in Florida.

It’s weird how precise in time children’s programming is – I don’t remember this as I was too old (I turned 21 in 1988!) but even during the gap between my 2nd and 3rd (8 years) programmes have changed so much! I thought I’d have nothing better to do than drag out all their old videos/toys/stuff and Paul would be delighted – no chance! There’s whole new ranges of merchandise out there – the turnaround time is frightening.
MrsW – and yet I bought Erin a button moon dvd and she loves it! Perhaps once she’s a bit older she’ll realise how unfashionable and dated it is
Oooh, I remember this too even though I am a little older than you! Did the girl helper have a really annoying accent if I remember rightly though? But I did used to like it!
So now you’ve tagged me, I’d best be getting on with mine…
He was a caterpillar? I always thought he was a Dragon… or some kind of mould growth. Well live and learn eh?! Oh and thanks for the tag… shall have to think of something that I can share that won’t frighten you all away!
I don’t remember Greenclaws at all despite being just a tiny bit older than you.
Not sure YummyNo1 but the songs were pretty bad
Strange that Rosie…
Sadly I do remember Greenclaws slightly. I was 13 in 1988. So that’s the sad bit. I did have two younger brothers though.
Sorry I’m a bit late to the party! Busy week at work!
I remember this! I used to love it and mither my baby sitter to put it on. (I was 8 in 1988).
Thanks for the tag, I’ll have a ponder tonight!!
