January
January was probably the least eventful month of my entire year. We did make the rather big decision to try for another baby though, and I bought my beloved Samsung NC10 with poker winnings
February
I fell pregnant and we celebrated Erin’s 3rd birthday.
March
I had my first miscarriage at the end of March. It was hard, but we decided to try again…

A few days after the miscarriage I received an email from a PR company, something that only happened a few times a month back then, the …

This discussion accompanies lesson six of the mum blogger e-course – blog etiquette & commenting.
One of the questions that has come up regarding commenting is whether as a blog writer you should reply to every comment left on your blog.
Some bloggers I know respond to every comment, others reply to some and yet others never add comment replies.
If you’re an established blogger what do you do and why.
If you’re new to blogging what are your thoughts.
As a commenter do you like a response or doesn’t it bother you.

This is a guest post by ‘mum of teens’
I can’t remember who purchased it – whether it was one of us or a moving-into-your first-home gift – but it appeared in our lives when we bought our first property together. 25 years ago.
Over the years, it survived the vicissitudes of being cared for by my less-than-green fingers where other plants keeled over and carked it left, right and centre. All it seemed to require was a bit of water now and again when one of us remembered. Yes, it went …

Open University
I’ve now completed the first section of study on the Open University course and submitted the first of four TMA’s (tutor marked assessment). The first TMA was only 500 words which I thought was a bit ridiculous, the first assessment for the social science course was 800 words. I completed the case study and submitted it for marking, the results came back and my first reaction was dissapointment, I did far better on my first TMA on the social science course, however the comments from the tutor …

I love our annual trip to Edinburgh’s Winter Wonderland. There’s ice skating, a big wheel and even a helter skelter but I don’t go for any of that, I go for the food. The German market and Highland market have the most delicious food, Alex and I made our pilgrimmage on Sunday.
As you approach the markets from Princes St (our equivalent of Oxford) you can see the twinkly lights and smell the sweet and savoury delights ahead. Ignore the naff van selling chips and candy floss and …

I once read that if your comment on a post is longer than five lines then you should write your own post. Here is my response to Living with Kids post Pink doesn’t Stink! This shouldn’t be read as a personal response to that post, rather a general response to the idea that Katie Price is a successful businesswoman and thus a good role model for our girls..
But while I’m sure they wouldn’t view the likes of Katie Price, the princess of pink, as a positive role model, …

Seventeen years! Seventeen years I’ve been doing this and I can’t cope anymore, it’s ok to laugh about it, but really it’s not funny anymore. I’m finding myself waking up in the morning dreading what lays ahead, not because of the content of my day, I’ve filled my days with things I enjoy, but because of the ball and chain.
In the words of Michael Jackson I need to make a change, and it isn’t going to be easy. In fact the prospect positively frightens me, but I …
