What’s Holding You Back?

I’ve just read an excellent post at Mummy Do That! In fact I’d urge you to read it before you read this one. It may help this one make sense Off you go then, I’ll be waiting…
That post made me think about my myself and my own life, I love posts that do that. Straight after I read the bit about what holds her back the thing that holds me back popped into my head, as if it’s always there but comes to the fore when …

6. Griffin MyPhones

We were sent a pair of these to trial. MyPhones are designed for kids 3-8 yrs old, special care has been taken on the comfort and safety of MyPhones – they cap the volume at 85 decibels which is the safe level for children. I was really impressed with the packaging and design, you can change the colour of the ear casing and they arrive in a little carry case. Erin loves them, she mostly uses them for the laptop games but I think …

Wiki Digital Camera and IWOOT

I’ve been sent the Wiki Digital Camera to trial. I’m a big fan of my flip video camera which I received for my birthday and this is a very similar product. The Wiki is a lightweight portable digital camera that has the software required to download videos built-in. The main advantages to owning one of these is their ease of use, a monkey could learn how to use it, and also its portability.
At ?59.99 the Wiki is around ?20 cheaper than a standard Flip and that difference …

A ‘Good Job’ vs A Job That’s Good

Excuse me if I’m getting a bit philosophical at the moment. My studying is throwing up a lot of interesting thoughts and ideas.
Last week I posted about the best job I ever had, I lightly touched on the things I believe that made that job so enjoyable, most aspects were connected to the ‘culture’ at the office. That post got me to thinking about the other jobs I’ve had, and I realised that I’ve had jobs which others may be perceived by others as far better than the …

Do Something Different Today

If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.
I don’t know who originally wrote this but I think I read it on a blog, probably a few years ago now. We all moan about things like lack of money, poor behaviour of children or our lack of success at X but often rather than changing our behaviour to achieve a different outcome we blindly do the same things and then wonder why we aren’t making progress.
Whenever I’m feeling in a rut I …

I’m a Celebrity – Fantasy Campers

The twelve campers I’d love to see on “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here” as started by Nixdminx
Gerard Butler – We’d need some eye candy. Enough said..
Gordon Brown & David Cameron – I’d like to hear what they have to say when they don’t have their spin doctors and advisers to help them.

Richard Branson – How would he cope without his luxury yacht & private island. Would he be entrepreneurial even in the jungle?

Elton John – I reckon he would keep the campfire songs going, also …

1. Whisky Beer
Whisky Beer or Ale is something we stumbled across when we were shopping at Ocean Terminal, that’s where the Royal Yacht Britannia is moored by the way. There’s a specialist whisky shop with a very passionate employee who was more than happy to show us everything in the shop which is when we found out about whisky beer, it’s essentially beer that is conditioned in oak casks so the beer takes on the unique flavour of that particular whisky.
Here’s more from the website where you can …

Dirty Dyson Dancing

This is a video that I’ve done for Dyson. Dyson sent us their handheld cleaner and asked us to write a post, film a video or take pictures. They wanted something “kooky/slightly more unusual” so here’s my effort revealing what we really do when we’re cleaning

What makes a job good?

I’ve had lots of jobs, for 26, perhaps too many. Some have have been good, some have been bad, and yes, some have been downright ugly. I’ve been promoted, made redundant, worked temporary, and recently I’ve even gone a little freelance.
The best job I ever had…and you probably think I’m about to go mummy blogger mushy and say parenting, no, maybe another day. The best job I ever had was a temporary job working in an all male team. I was an administrator of sorts but …
