Nursery
Erin finally started nursery on Monday, she was due to start in April but the class was full so she was more than ready. On their first day they only stay for an hour which was a big dissappointment to her, it was difficult to drag her away, it was a beautiful day and she was happily playing in the garden. The teacher said she’d had a great time and that it was as if she’d been there for years! I couldn’t help but feel proud, it’s really important to me that she enjoys school, as I did.
Yesterday was her first full day, she kept checking with me that she’d be spending the whole afternoon there, I only hope she’s as keen in a few years time
We moved house a couple of years back and one of our main motivations was the excellent schools in the area and that’s really paying off now
The nursery and primary school had excellent reports, with ‘above average’ results. We’ve been very lucky to be able to afford a house in an area with such good schools, even the high school has a good reputation. Ussually the priviledge of a good school comes at a price, but we seem to have stumbled across a well kept secret! Plus the fact we employed the ethos of ‘living in the worst house in the best street’ ![]()
How’s everyonelse’s ‘back to school’ going?

We still have another week to go, found out today. Nursery school starts back next Wednesday, but Rosemary only goes Tuesdays and Thursdays, and playgroup starts back next Thursday, and Rosemary goes there Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
She can’t wait to go back and is very excited that she’s going to be eating at nursery school twice a week.
Hope Erin continues to enjoy it.
Mine hasn’t started yet. The 5 yr old when reminded she was back at school next Wed told me she hated school and the 3 yr old is so laid back about starting nursery that he’s just going to wander on in there without a thought and probably forget too say goodbye.
We go back on Thursday …. a week to go…
Uniform bought (Tesco – always best for me)…lunchbox needed – (has to be High School Musical)…coat to find(not too puffy mummy, not too dark, not too pink..strewth, she’s 6!)
Finding a good school is difficult especially when you have to stay in the neighbourhood to attend the particular school. I am pleased you have that problem out of the way. In Malaysia, its the same, the address counts and we have to show proof that we live in the area – usually with an electric or water bill in our name.
