Disney Video: Magic Kingdom

The first time I went to Disney World I was seventeen, back in the year 2000! The ‘magic’ of the Magic Kingdom passed me by somewhat, maybe you need to be a parent or a young child…because this time it really hit me, and I absolutely cannot wait to experience it all with Erin.

The Buzz Lightyear attraction was our first stop which was very similar to the Toy Story ride in Hollywood Studios, but not as good.

On our way towards some other attractions we ran into the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade. This a thrice daily event that is new this year and part of the ‘what will you celebrate’ campaign that is big in America. I loved this parade, it wasn’t overly busy meaning plenty of space to dance! It’s a real vibrant party atmosphere featuring characters from The Incredibles and Jungle Book, amongst others.

I took this little video, although nothing’s like seeing it live.

Afterwards we headed for Peter Pan’s Flight, which I think would be very good for the under fives and then to It’s A Small World which was a bit dated, but you can forgive it that seeing as it was the attraction that started it all.

We then headed for Minnie’s house which I thought was v.cool, I think I could see myself living somewhere like that :)

Feeding time again, this time we headed to the Italian made famous in Lady and the Tramp – Tony’s Town Square. The meal was a little underwhelming as my mash was cold (twice) our waiter (Casey) worked hard though and gave us free tinkerbells, all is forgiven. I also checked out a kids menu, it was a set price for three courses with the offerings including pizza, pasta and a healthy/balanced meal, no complaints there.

After our meal we enjoyed the Nightime Wishes Spectacular and Spectromagic Parade – videos to come.

It looks like great fun. We’ve just come back from a mini break in Euro Disney – I’ll blog about it soon. Highly recommended!

Would love to hear that, we considered doing Euro Disney last year but didn’t go due to reports from people that it was lacking in certain areas.

I went in the mid-1990s and really enjoyed it although I felt a bit too old to really get into the spirit of things. I’d love to go back with a 5 year old. I can imagine I’d see it all through her eyes and would find it even more exciting and magical. Better start saving!

Yeah, I think the focus will definitely be on being big kids for two weeks :)

Am so jealous. I would love to go to Disney World or Land or Euro Disney (or whatever it’s called these days). Hopefully will manage the latter in the next few years, at least.

Award for you over at mine.

Am I being sucked into Disney……yes!, but happily. Ella is 6 now and Zac Efron has a lot to answer for (High School Musical – Ella is word perfect!- she has a crush (her words not mine) – at 6!) I want Disney to restore Ella’s faith in Tigger before it’s too late…! I think 2010 will have to include a trip to Florida (Thanks Erica!) :)

:) I bet a certain someone is gonna love that. Ella would love the bibbity bobbity boutique, expensive, but she’s the perfect age.
