Aveeno Review & Giveaway

Time for some primping and preening in preparation for my big trip (you know, the one I might have mentioned once or twice!)
I received these Aveeno goodies ages ago so it was good to finally have an excuse to try them out. First up the colloidal oatmeal bath, every time I mention colloidal I think it sounds like a nasty hospital treatment. I have to say the reality of the bath wasn’t much better. See video
I think it’s only fair to take the good with the bad so I hopped in and the, um, scum went away a bit, which was nice. The smell did subside a bit too, it started out like a hops smell, my husband thought I had started my own home brew in the bath. The result was pretty good though and my skin felt nicer afterwards, not sure it was enough for me to try it again though. I bet my bath needs a good clean now.
The moisturising cream was much better though, the consistency was quite thick to look at but when I started smoothing it over my skin it was absorbed really easily, leaving no residue or that familiar wet feeling.
I’m not sure where the cream was meant to go but seeing as I’d just done a facial scrub (I’m really ramping up my efforts in a bid to look half way decent while I’m away) I decided to put it on my face. All the products are fragance free and their selling point seems to be their ‘naturalness’.
Now to the good part, I have five of the sets you see above to giveaway. All you need to do if you’d like to be in with a chance of winning one is sign up for my newsletter. You’ll automatically be entered into this AND all future giveaways (no catch, just enjoy!)

Oh now, you’re my kind of reviewer!! At LAST, someone says what they think…..
Actually I love this kind of scummy bath stuff (love ANY kind of bath stuff, if I’m truthful)….
I AM looking forward to the trip (honest injun) – just does feel somewhat unfair that my poor son who would chop off several fingers to go, can’t whereas I (the big gnarly grump) can….
Very much looking forward to meeting the crew though…and promise I won’t be a total grump all the time (only when faced with a rollercoaster)…. Janex
Maybe this scum stuff is really popular then
it’s just me whinging about my bath!
Might be keeping you company at times, definitely can’t do Tower of Terror
This sounds great! Thanks for the chance! I subscribed:)

Hi Erica, I don’t want to spoil your post, but I think you might want to know also the negative aspects of a product. I’ve tried the colloidal oatmeal bath not long ago and I had a terrible reaction to it. Within seconds in the bath I developed a terrible rush all over my body. I was so scared and did not know what to do, so I had a quick shower under low warm water to get rid of the residues and the smell. The burning sensation stopped but it took me until the next day to get rid of the rash. I suppose I’m allergic to one of the ingredients! Ciao. A.
Thanks Antonella, I guess the advice would be to dip a hand in first or something? Especially if you have sensitive skin.
You’re going on a trip??????
hehe would never have known
Have to say I haven’t even heard of this stuff, sounds interesting though and any chance to try something new sounds good to me lol

Good grief. It looks a little like bathing in porridge! I’m with Jane: ten out of ten for honesty!! x
