Hi Julie, thanks for commenting. I agree that occasionally a fruit shoot is fine and a much better option than a fizzy drink, which she gets even less occasionally.

Hi I?m Julie Dean ? Britvic?s (the home of Robinson's) nutritionist ? it?s great to hear how much your children are enjoying Fruit Shoot. I agree we do want our young ones to drink milk and water but variety and enjoyment is helpful to encourage children, especially primary school age, to drink enough. My girls used to get very distracted by their activities and not want to stop for a drink.

Robinson's Fruit Shoot has a low sugar version (just a small amount of sugar from the fruit juice and a very small amount of artificial sweetener) but also regular Fruit Shoot is perfect for when your young ones need a small pick me up after school. The Robinson 100% fruit juice is also perfect for lunch boxes.

Yeah, I know many parents share your view, although Robinson have brought out a 'low sugar' version. Erin always has unsweetened squash or milk at home, she gets a fruit shoot if we are in a cafe or something.

I'm afraid I'm not a fan of them - all the ones I've come across are full of sweeteners and they're marketed to make people think they are healthy and a good choice for kids. In-laws bought some for her when they were out, assuming that it was healthy, and Rosemary had terrible squits that evening. Might not be related, of course.

Pure juice mixed with water, or milk is all Rosemary gets still. She does get occasional treats, like milkshakes and hot chocolate, too.

(Of course, I'm a hypocrite and am sitting here swilling down a large glass of coke. Rosemary is still under the impression that coke and sweets are for grown-ups and whenever she sees either she says 'I can have some when I'm older, can't I?'. Don't think she'll let us get away with it for much longer!)
