Two Free Copies of Cookin Kids Ebook

Peggy from CooKin Kids approached me about her Ebook Cookin Kids.
You may be like me, a busy mom, who’s grown tired of picky eaters, bored kids, and fast food. Now there’s a way to solve these problems; please let me explain…
My kids were 8 and 10 when I realized that they really didn’t know how to cook and I was doing it all. This was no good – I was either wearing myself out making hurried and boring meals that they were tired of, or we were ordering delivery pizza …

The Future of Work for Mums

Today I’m wondering if there is a sea of change in the world of work for mums.
A very rudimentary timeline;
Pre-1980′s (?) Mums stayed at home to look after children, whilst father earned the ‘daily bread’.
1980′s – Noughties Mums managed careers and family simultaneously. Supposedly ‘having it all’.
The Future
The landscape is changing, many mums are accepting that they wish to be a stay at home parent, if not in full, then in part. Mums also accept that they a) cannot survive on one wage and b) have ambitions of …

Join Bukisa – Make Passive Income

Bukisa is a way to ‘share your knowledge and earn money’ I joined a few days ago and can already see its potential. You basically write articles and post them to Bukisa (this is very simple, even easier than blogging on your own platform) and then you are paid for people viewing your work. You can also do slide shows, videos and more…
Bukisa also pays you a small cut for signing up friends and family, it’s in Beta at the moment and relatively unknown, and with all these …

Stepping Outside the Comfort Zone

As parents, are we using our role as an excuse to stay within our comfort zone?
We have our ‘purpose’, the media tells us we should be immediately and indefinitely fulfilled. I relish being a parent and the challenges it provides. But it’s not enough. Parenthood fulfills one apect of my pshyche, but what about the other part, the part that yearns for recognition, measurable success and the rush that is created when challenging yourself.
Throughout my (relatively short) life I have thrived on a challenge. …

Challenge #1 – You Choose

I want to try something new, being a stay at home mum (although I work part-time now!) can be a little, um, monotonous. I need to step outside my comfort zone. I need a challenge.
That’s where my blogging friends (that’s you) come in. I’ve come up with a selection of five challenges (briefly described below), all I ask of you is to visit my blog and choose one from the poll in the sidebar. I’ll begin the chosen-for-me challenge this Friday. I’ll blog about the …

It’s Flippin Good! (Flip Video Camera)

I treated myself to the Flip Ultra It’s a digital video camera that’s a little larger than your average mobile phone. It takes up to sixty minutes of footage and is super easy to use. There’s a big red button. Press it.
Here’s a tiny bit of video of us doing one of our christmas calendars, sorry if its a bit ‘wooden’, Erin’s a natural I’m still to find my groove.

The software could be better, is that not the same with all …

Edinburgh Winter Wonderland

We had a lovely day yesterday, we decorated our christmas tree, matching colours have given way to an eclectic mix of decorations since Erin came along. This is the first year she’s shown an interest in the christmas tree and was surprisingly helpful.
Afterwards we went out for some lunch and then headed for the Winter Wonderland in Edinburgh. We saw the ice skaters, had a ride on the teacups, and bought some decorations and candles. The day was rounded of with sweets for Erin, donuts and chocolate …

Swap Party

I can’t bring myself to mention the ‘c’ phrase, which relates to money and the economy. We’re all suffering, even the rich folks are losing equity, shame. We have to find ways to cut the proverbial cloth, and if you don’t fancy partaking in Britain’s favourite thrifty pastime, a clothes swapping party is a fair alternative.
We held our own ‘swap party’ a couple of weeks ago. A few family members, a couple (read half dozen) bottles of cheap plonk, and some knock down party food from the …
