Vlogging – Overcoming Self-Consciousness
The urge not to post my videos this week was strong. You know when you see or hear yourself and you think, is that really me? I had that bad and didn’t want to post the videos. I felt really self-conscious but I forced myself to do it because;
I bought a Flip
I bought a portable digital video camera specifically so that I could take short video clips. It would be a complete waste not to use it. Blogging is a creative outlet, producing pictures, audio and video can really stretch your creativity.
Multi-media Blogging
The future of blogging is in multi-media delivery of content (so they tell me). So that’s text, image, audio and video. To differentiate yourself from other bloggers this is apparently the route you need to take. The technology to do all these is very simple now and any blogger is capable.
Make it Personal
I wanted to put myself out there a bit more. I wanted people to see the ‘face behind the blog’, black eyes and all
A Modern Mother pointed out that many British bloggers do so anonymously, is it time we came out the closet? What do we have to hide? Will you be embracing this new multi-media approach?

I think next year we will be able to put more names with faces…

I’m thinking of buying a Flip for the same reason but I’m so camera-shy I’m not sure what I’d do with it! But I love the idea.
You could start by doing clips of other things, cooking, crafts..whatever, before turning the camera on yourself.
The first video was by far the hardest, I guess you can tell that since the second was 5 minutes long!
I definitely recommend the Flip
