Part seven of this series has been delayed as I have been testing a new income method which I’m excited to report is already earning, to find out what that method is stay tuned for the bonus part (after part ten!).
7. Review Me
Review Me is a pay-per-post method of blog income. You (the blogger) are paid to review a website or product. You usually have to commit to a number of words and also link to the product/webpage which you are reviewing. I reviewed BabySock and a Cyber Bullying website last year, you can check out what work is involved by clicking the links.
The posts took me around 20-30 minutes to produce and I received £10/$20 for each, which isn’t a huge amount of money, which is why I don’t do it very often. The price of the review depends on stats like your alexa rank, rss subscriber level etc.. My current payout would be around £15/$30, although you are able to put your price up or down. Review Me take a 50% cut, which I think is quite high considering their end of the deal is minimal, I don’t mind the 50/50 cut with text link ads, as I don’t really have to do anything (other than write for my blog!), however, with Review Me I am the one who has to shoulder the work, for me, nine times out of ten it’s not worth it.
If you’re just starting out and want to give Review Me a go, go for it. If you have other income possibilities lined up I’d probably give this one a miss (and read part 8 instead!).
Anyone have a different view of Review Me?
