We’ve decided to return to our honeymoon destination of Prague to celebrate ten years together. The plan at the moment is to stay for four night sans Erin in the Falkensteiner hotel in October next year. Having only spent one night away from Erin at a time this will be a real ‘holiday’. To keep the guilt at bay we’ve also been pricing trips to Lapland to visit Father Christmas, although if we go it will be a couple of years away yet

Highlights from the Blogosphere
Are today’s teachers well equipped enough to teach our children? Or does a teaching degree make very little difference.
One of the highlights of Blog Action Day was 21st Century Mummy’s post on Christmas.
And whilst we’re on the topic of christmas, surely buying one beautiful everlasting advent calendar is better than buying a cardboard one each and every year!

Very romanatic little mummy. The advert calender looks beautiful but my 4 year old would definately break it! I haven’t introduced her to the advert calender idea yet, she’s just one a chocolate one and they would all be eaten on December 1st - and if not by her then by me!
I’m really looking forward to Prague again. I need to start saving though!
Prague is lovely. We went before children. Have fun.
We took the kids to Lapland when they were 3 and 5 - my advice is to go for at least one night if you can afford it. It’s more expensive, but much better value. We went for a day and got about three hours there for a lot more hours of travelling.

We use the same advent calendar every year, and put a small present in for each day. Gets them worked up into fever pitch by Christmas Day!
Thanks for the advice beta mum, the current plan is to go for three nights, which includes various activities within the package. I priced it up and it was costing £1000 to go for the day and £1660 for 3 nights, so it’s a no brainer really, although inflation will have worked its magic by the time we’ll be going
Prague looks so beautiful and BIG congratulations on the 10 years, that’s fantastic. Also thanks for the link. I promise to do my MEME very soon. ;-D
The Bombay Company has an advent calendar (I think it was priced like $60-$80) that my 5-year-old got really interested in. I had to stand and wait for her as she tried all 25 doors! We might get it and put in little treats like Jibbitz for her Crocs..
