I found out about this via ReviewMe, and I just had to pass the word on…
First, a quick blurb from the site;
According to the College Board 2006 Profile Report analysis of SAT scores, students from wealthier families typically receive higher marks. ProProfs hopes to even out the playing field for the two million individuals who take the exam each year by now providing a free SAT test school for e-learning.
Sounds good to me, I’m always up for levelling the playing field so that all kids have the same chance and opportunities in life.
The site has a comprehensive collection of materials to assisit with SAT preparation including study guides, flash cards, quizzes and a whole host of web 2.0 stuff like blogs, wikis, and forums which is bound to appeal to the young techno junky generation.
I’m very impressed with the layout and feel of the site, the integration of new and social media technologies is refreshing and innovative, it takes something that’s been around for a while, exams and studying, and produced a resource that makes the process of learning more enjoyable.
I don’t have much knowledge of the SAT exam or the study required, but, on the surface this looks like a superb resource that’s free and open to all.
