I bought this magnetic sketching toy to put away for when Erin is a bit older. But she loves it!
At first she waggled the pen around not making a mark, but now she scribbles away and has learned that only one end of the pen works. She manouvres the pen in her hand to get the best grip and control for her ‘drawing’. I have noticed Erin’s fine motor skills are really improving because of it.

I just started reading your site today! How old is Erin? I was just wondering when the etch a sketch might be good for my son Jason.

You are very welcome. Erin is 14 months. She loves the magnetic sketcher although I think the guide age was either 2 or 3 . I’m always present when she uses it, I figure she could potentially poke her eye or something, although nothing like that has happened.
Ps How old is your son?
Jason is almost 9 months old. We’ll have to wait awhile for the etch a sketch as right now pretty much everything is still going in his mouth! Love the site. Erin is beautiful!
