Pink Party: Erin’s First Birthday
**Help Help Help Help Help Help Help Help Help**
I’ve decided to have a traditional tea party in the house for Erin’s first birthday, which falls nicely on a Sunday (4th February).
I have decided that the theme of the party will be ‘Pink’.
So far my ‘thought shower’ (can you believe they have to call it that in schools these days??) has resulted in pink balloons, pink napkins and a pink dress code. Guys……friends…..fellow bloggers….I need HELP
I’d like you to throw some ideas and inspiration at me for Erin’s Pink Party. Food, party bags, fun & games….if you have a bright idea…or any idea at all
please leave a suggestion. Thank You.

I've been blogging for four years and write about anything and everything that takes my fancy.
Above is me with my beloved Ernie in Port Aventura and left with our love child in Florida.

What are you serving for food? finger foods? Pink fruit with a pink cream cheesy dip? watermelon, strawberries, blood oranges, hmmm, pomegranates might not be great to dip… cookies with pink frosting, strawberry soup ( I have a recipe that’s summery but delish), cranberry or raspberry muffins.
Will there be other kids? pin the cherry on the ice cream? strawberry ice cream of course! whipped cream painting for little ones- tinted pink of course, scavenger hunt for pink stuff… pink candies and hair doo dads and even cars for goody bags.
When Grace was four I threw a P party, with everything starting with P and as pink was her “signature color” it included a lot of pink things. I made a pink pig pinata that was really cute. Just a large balloon with cone-shaped hooves and a snout. I’ll have to look and see if I’ve got a picture somewhere.
The party will be mostly adults (acting like kids).
For food I had thought about pink wafers, pink jelly. Drinks, pink lemonade and pink punch (oj and cranberry).
Dipped strawberries could be good
I could dip them half in white chocolate…..[thinking out loud].
Sounds like my kind of party! Don’t forget the pink plates, napkins and utensils. You could probably get them at any party store. Pink streamers, balloons, confetti, table cloth would also look great!
Thanks for sharing this with the Carnival of Family Life.
I just found this up at the Carnival of Family life and thought I would stop by. I, too, am planning a first birthday party (Sophie turns one on February 2) and I actaully came by to see what ideas you had gotten. I love the idea of having a theme tea party. Sounds like you have lots of good ideas about food and the like. My tip has absolutely nothing to do with your theme, but it is something fun that I got from my son’s day care and plan on doing for Sophie’s birthday. Take a picture of your child and glue it on to a piece of paper. On the back put the child’s hand print, their weight and height. This makes sucha great keepsake. And, something I just thought of- if you mount the pic on a large sheet of paper you could have all the party guests sign and/or leave birthday wishes. Good luck. Let us know how it goes!
Great idea Trisha, kinda like a wedding guest book but for a birthday
I think that’s a winner! Off to get some pink card!!
Wow, that’s gonna be a girly party weekend!!! My oldest turns 6 on the 2nd, with a party on the 3rd.
We have done lots of pink over the years. A strawberry cake is always a favorite of hers. I think m&ms come out with a pink/red/white themed bag around now for Valentine’s Day, at least here they do. Those are cute for treat bags. Pink cellophane/Saran wrap is cute for making the treat bags, with a pink ribbon. Hmm…will let you know if I think of anything else!

Sounds like it will be quite the party. You can have pink juice at the party, pink cookies. I like your pink dress code idea.

Thanks everyone, your suggestions have really inspired me….off to search out some pink stuff today!
Hey, I saw this on the lfe carnival too and wanted to share something I’ve done for a friend a year ago as I’m a graphic designer.
I took a pic of her girl while napping and added trough Corel the legend: ACTUAL SIZE, then inside you I added the kid’s name and bday; I printed a bunch of them in real life size at a monochrome laser printer (as kids aren’t that big at this age) and tri-folded them. You can print them out in pink paper to play with black and white over pink.
Hope this helps,
Aldana
Hey I am organising a party for my little 5 year old sister and mum has left it all up to me. I am only 11 and dont know quite what games and food to do. has anyone got any suggestions?
Wow, that’s a big responsibility for you.
I find it’s always easiest to pick a theme, for example I have chosen pink. For a five year old girl ‘fairies’ might be good.
Once you have a theme you can choose games. Pass the parcel, musical statues, and pin the cherry on the ice cream (or something that fits in with your theme) are good options.
As for food, if you are doing this singlehandedly I would keep it very simple. Ham sandwiches cut into triangles, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages and mini pizzas are absolutely fine.
For desert, set up an ‘ice cream factory’ give everyone a scoop or two of ice cream and provide toppings like jelly sweets, chocolate drops and a few different sauces and let the kids help themselves.
[...] I’ve talked quite a bit about Erin’s upcoming pink party. [...]
It is hard to find pink foods that don’t include fish and other such grown up foods. Here’s a couple of ideas that we came up with for my best friend’s 8 year old daughter. One idea is a pretty bowl of strawberry sugar wafers. Another is filling ice cream cones (we used small sugar cones) with pink cotton candy instead of having ice cream. We also found the coolest castle cake. It took us a few hours to make it, but we are amatures at that sort of thing.
I am planning a “think pink” birthday party for my daughters 1st birthday. I just thought I would share some ideas I had. I thought about making mimi pink popcorn balls and making bread in a bread machine and adding red food coloring so the bread will be pink! Then make sandwiches and cut them with little cookie cutters in the shape of hearts or whatever. Also on the invitation I am telling everyone they MUST wear pink to attend!! I am having a hard tme coming up with a non sweet side to go with the pink sandwiches any ideas?
Struggling with pink savoury foods….ummm…..ham is pink…or vol au vents with prawn marie rose….they aren’t the greatest ideas…this is a hard one….
I am having a pink picnic theme in my school for H.E i am using this site for ideas of food to put in. lol thanks all you mummys out there for the ideas byeeeee!!!!!xxxxxx
