Make Play-Safe Kiddie Gunge
Fact: All kids like to make mess.
Fact: All kids like goo, slime and gunge.
Make your own play-safe Kiddie Gunge
You will need;
Custard (ready-made is fine)
Food colouring (Green + any other colours you have)
A few plastic bowls and spoons
1. Pour custard into a large bowl and add green food colouring – this is the basis for your goo.
2. Sit on a waterproof sheet and let your child mix, play with, taste, smell, and make a mess with the ‘goo’
Tips
* For extra slimey goo add some green or yellow jelly
* Add jelly snakes and worms to make a bug infested bog
* Provide straws so that they can blow realisitic bubbles in the bog
* Another take on this game is to provide 3 or 4 different pots of custard + other ingredients (choc chips, hundreds and thousands, fruit pieces, marshmallows) and let them ‘cook’ up a delight for you – go with the fruit if you’re on a diet – you’ll be tasting plenty ![]()

I've been blogging for four years and write about anything and everything that takes my fancy.

Custard powder, right. No! Custard? The liquid, drippy, icky, custardy custard?
That is gunge!
Custard? Would that be the thick creamy stuff I’m thinking of… is it the same stuff in the US?
I’ll have to try it.
That’s the stuff, I find it works really well, and it doesn’t matter if they eat some.
[...] Next up is last week’s host, Erica Douglas from Littlemummy, and from GNMParents. Erica’s sharing a recipe for Gunge: Make Play-Safe Kiddie Gunge. Kids love gooey stuff, so this is sure to be a big hit with them! [...]
